The African Development Bank (ADB) approved a loan of up to EUR 50 million to finance the expansion project of the powerhouse Ciprel.
In June, the World Bank announced a loan of 108 million euros to Ciprel, an Ivorian electricity producer, a subsidiary of Finagestion, controlled by the Pan-capital investor ECP society. The expansion project Ciprel, which provides an increase in the capacity of the existing 222 MW power plant, has also received support from the African Development Bank (ADB) with a loan can be up to 50 million euros.
This fourth expansion, the total cost is estimated at about 270 million euros, will increase gross production capacity by 69% for a total of 543 MW. When the project is operational, Ciprel possess the largest operational thermal power plant in sub-Saharan Africa.
